A Defining Moment: How My Studio Became Beauty Studio of the Year
In 2020, while the world was shutting down and the future of the beauty industry seemed unclear, I made a bold decision. After ten years of working as a mobile artist, I opened my first studio space. It wasn’t the most obvious time to take such a step—most businesses were pressing pause, and I was just getting started. But I saw it as an opportunity.
The lockdown allowed me to plan and refine every detail of the space. I envisioned a studio that didn’t just offer services, but a full experience. One that was calming, welcoming, and deeply professional. I used that downtime to craft a space where clients could feel safe and pampered, knowing they were in expert hands the moment they walked in.
A Recognition That Meant the World
When I received the nomination for Beauty Studio of the Year, I was genuinely taken aback. There are so many talented artists in the UK, and to be recognised at that level felt surreal. Winning the award felt even more so.
The ceremony, hosted in London by Oceanic Events and presented by the brilliant Tommy Sandhu, was nothing short of magical. It wasn’t just a glamorous night—it was the kind of moment that reminded me why I started this journey in the first place.
Standing on that stage, I reflected on everything that had led to that point—the years of travel as a mobile artist, the decision to open a studio in uncertain times, the endless hours building a brand clients could trust. That trophy wasn’t just for me. It was for everyone who had supported the studio along the way—my loyal clients, my team, and the wider community that believed in what I was building.
More Than Just an Award
Winning this title wasn’t just about recognition. It marked a turning point. It brought a new level of visibility, trust, and growth to the business. Clients who had never heard of the studio before began booking appointments. Brides-to-be felt even more confident placing their big day in my hands. The award became a symbol of reassurance for clients and a reminder to me that hard work truly does pay off.
It also helped open doors to bigger dreams. Since the award, the studio has expanded to house multiple businesses under one roof. I’ve launched my own boutique, expanded my bridal makeup artist services, and continued to nurture a creative, collaborative space where beauty meets business.
Gratitude at the Core
This journey hasn’t always been easy—but it’s been worth every late night and early morning. And while awards are never the goal, they’re powerful reminders that others see and value what you’re doing. That moment on stage was a career highlight, but it was also a deeply personal one.
To everyone who has walked through my studio doors, trusted me with their bridal looks, supported my boutique, or even just shared kind words online—thank you. You made this possible.
I’m so excited for what’s ahead. This award is not the end, but the beginning of an even more ambitious chapter.
